Suggestions, Football and Playboy Interviews Olbermann

Suggestions: I’ve been working on some changes to this site, changes in style, in content etc. I’m also working on a list of things to talk over with my webmaster. The object of course is to make the site better. Better for readers, easier to use, more fun and ultimately bring even more traffic in. I’m already working on more web site reviews, more toy reviews and more photo galleries. If you have any suggestions, please send them over. Ideas for features on the site, ideas for how to handle web site reviews, whatever you have, send it over. I want this site to continue to be one you visit and enjoy. Thanks in advance. Football: Sunday number two. Grudge day for San Diego and New England. That is going to be one hell of a game, especially after the mess last year. With all the videogate stuff going on, one has to wonder how the Patriots will rise to the occasion. They always seem to come up big when they need it most. I’ve been watching college games all day today. Oklahoma was impressive against a pretty bad team. That game with Texas is shaping up to be a big one again. USC was thoroughly unimpressive for a good portion of the game, but recovered well and dropped the hammer. And what the hell happened to UCLA? I couldn’t believe how bad they looked

Olbermann in Playboy: So I’m flipping through Playboy and found their interview with Keith Olbermann.. I may not like the guy, but support his right to say whatever crap he wants to say. I’ll exercise my right not to watch his show or anything he’s on. The interview was pretty much what you would expect, but one thing stood out.

“Al Qaeda really hurt us, but not as much as Rupert Murdoch has hurt us, particularly in the case of Fox New. Fox news is worse than Al Qaeda–worse for our society. It’s as dangerous as the Ku Klux Klan ever was. ”

OK, I’m all for Keith’s right to say what he wants, but someone has to call bullshit on this one. Rupert Murdoch has hurt us more than Al Qaeda? In what fucking universe Keith? I know you hate him, but I haven’t seen Bill O’Reilly calling for the beheading of anyone who doesn’t watch Fox News. I haven’t seen Sean Hannity out there blowing up buildings or paying rewards to homicide bombers. I admit I don’t watch Fox News often, but I think I would have heard about stuff like that. It’s called perspective Keith. So you disagree with a guy who runs a network and he is worse than a terrorist organization that wants to kill us? Wouldn’t be like your average viewer saying that Dan Rather, Sean McManus and Katie Couric are somehow worse than the Khmer Rouge? (Not a perfect comparison, but you get the idea.) Are you equating free speech and choice with terrorism? And let’s back the truck up on that whole KKK thing. Did Keith really just say that Fox News is worse for society than the Klan? Yes he did. Hmmm, let’s think about that. A News Network that he (And many others) disagrees with (and that is kicking his ass and wouldn’t hire him) is worse thank the KKK. Really Keith? Really? (Sorry, those of you that saw the 9/11 Conspiracy Theory episode of South Park will get it.) Correct me I’m wrong, but the Klan freaking LYNCHED innocent people. You’re comparing your competition for the “riled up poli-cheer” audience to a group of racist criminals who murdered people? (Should I give him credit for not making the laughable Nazi comparison?) I do believe that if you don’t like Fox News you can change the bleeding channel. Somehow I don’t think the innocent people lynched by the Klan were given such a choice. Sorry Keith, I’m sure you were trying to be glib and quotable, but you need to stand by the things you say. Rather than responding in kind by calling your statements and your sorry ass show worse for society than the Aryan Nation chapter of NAMBLA, I’ll stick to something more obvious and appropriate. You’re wrong Keith, and a dumb ass to boot.
