Tina Tyler, Rio Valentine & Ivan’s Truth
This year I had more guest bloggers than ever and they entertained us with a variety of topics. We had serious political issues, getting to know them pieces, state of the industry rants and one great “remember me” email. I hope you enjoyed reading them as much as I did.
Thursday:
Tina Tyler: Pornification
This was one of the most interesting blogs of the week. Tina’s take on pop music, the sexualization of increasingly young girls and our acceptance of “jail bait.” Very interesting points and a lot to think about. I remember the countdown calendars to Britney’s 18th birthday. (And the Olson Twins as well.) I’m sure there are similar sites waiting for underage movie and popstars to hit that magical age so that TMZ can go looking for crotch shots. But Ms. Tyler had best be careful. Asking hard questions about our culture like this might get her thrown out of porn’s “everything is good” club.
Rio Valentine: The newest member of the Digital Playground team, Rio gave us a nice getting to know her blog. This beautiful teen fits right in with DP and gave us some eye candy so we all love that.
Ivan: Truth
By now you all know that I consider Ivan to be not only one of the best film makers in porn, but also one of the best people I’ve ever known. He’s honest, trustworthy and just a good guy. Ivan’s blog reflects on how he sees the industry. It definitely is a place where good people get trampled and we witness behaviors that we would like to see changed. There isn’t a whole lot any one person can do, mostly because this is a machine that brings out the worst in all people. How do you take sides when too often both sides are wrong? Read this blog and let it sink in. Ivan did a great job and I am very proud to bring you this blog. (And proud to call him my friend.)
