After over a decade as one of the interesting, diverse and often underrated porn stars in the business, Tina Tyler has moved behind the camera for Pandora Cinema. She’s already directed a few titles, but this is her most ambitious effort to date. At a time when more and more women are getting behind the camera, Ms. Tyler isn’t about to slip into a cookie cutter method of smut making, adding some interesting twists and packing the cast with a diverse performers. Legendary names like Nina Hartley and Sean Michaels highlight a talent ed list that includes Kylie Ireland, Dru Berrymore and Kimi Lixx. The set up is a simple one. We’ve got an elevator, a simple transportation device under normal circumstances that is so much more in the world of porn.

Sean and Nina are the first to enter the elevator. They are a couple who gets together once a year to celebrate their magical encounter at a conference a decade earlier. They stop the elevator between floors and start kissing. This is definitely a couples-friendly scene if for no other reason than that fact they kiss and hug before the sex. Nina is looking heavier than I’ve ever seen her, but Sean is more than happy to have her at the business end of his long cock. This is an interesting little movie, certainly not the normal porn venture. Even if we ignore the very edgy final scene, which of course we won’t, there is a unique feel to each scene. The cramped spaces limit some of the angles for the sex, but the chosen angles capture the action quite nicely. The Nina and Sean scene is pretty good, but it’s a bit like watching Lemmon and Mathau in those late movies. Dru makes her three-way a lot of fun to watch. Oddly enough, the scene that I enjoyed the most was the girl/girl romp between Kylie and Kimi. This is the best combination of eye candy and sexual heat on hand. I really like the way this movie is put together. I would have liked it more with a better looking cast, but Tina Tyler’s Going Down is a very well put together, moody movie that will find a home with adventurous couples looking for something different.
