The announcement of the AVN Awards nominations has become an annual night of celebration for Anikka Albrite and her husband Mick Blue. No one questions that they will receive boatloads of nominations (nor that they deserve them!), but it’s always fun, especially seeing which of their projects gets recognized each year.
For your consideration: a porn studio creating a high volume of elite content in wide-ranging styles. Evil Angel has been honored with over 100 nominations for the annual “Oscars of Porn,†also known as the 2017 AVN Awards. Twenty Evil filmmakers were acknowledged in dozens of categories. Reflecting the company’s diverse approach to erotic entertainment are nods for straight gonzo product and TS material as well as accolades for vignette projects and an ambitious feature, studio founder John Stagliano’s “Hard In Love.â€
AVN announced their nominees last week and graced Nina with three nominations, the first being MILF Performer of the Year. Nina was also nominated for two of her scenes, including Best Three-Way Sex Scene – B/B/G for “Bikini Sex Dolls” from Jonni Darko/Jules Jordan. Nina’s scene partners for this scene are Markus Dupree and Moe Johnson. She was also nominated for Best All-Girl Group Sex Scene in Hard Reign from Elegant Angel, along with scene partners Kleio Valentien and Tasha Reign.
Keisha Grey seems like a force in the industry that cannot be stopped. As she continues to gather momentum in 2016, she will start 2017 on a high note with several AVN nominations.
Just as Abigail Mac was headed to Connecticut for gigs at a pair of Mystique clubs last weekend, she received the news that she had been nominated for 3 XBIZ Awards. A few hours later she also received 3 more for the 2017 AVN Awards.
Curvaceous, busty, blonde Brooklyn has once again been recognized by the AVN with multiple nominations for her scene work over the past year.
Eva Lovia scored two Best Scene nominations for the 2017 AVN Awards and was also thrilled that her official website, FallinLovia.com, was nominated for Best Porn Star Website.
Archangel has had another stellar year and released over 20 titles including their hit series The Booty Movie, Beautiful Tits, and True MILF, showcases from Dakota, Ashley Fires, and AJ Applegate, and much more. With only two years in the industry, they have definitely made their mark and people are taking notice, including AVN who nominated them 19 times this year.
Mick Blue came away from the announcement of the 2017 AVN Awards nominations with 35 nominations – three more than his amazing tally for the 2016 show and twice as many as he had in 2014.
This year I am doing something a little different. This first podcast is a reaction to the AVN list. It is the first time I have actually read it so it’s a little rough around the edges and raw. I hope you like it. I am also going to try to incorporate some interviews and guests in this year’s podcast series. We will also be bringing back the Pick the Winners Contest. AVN Media Network on Thursday night announced the nominees for the 2017 AVN Awards set for January 21 in Las Vegas.
