XBIZ TV: ‘Insatiable’ Asa Akira Goes From Dominatrix to Performer of the Year

LOS ANGELES, MARCH 16, 2012 — XBIZ TV on Friday debuted an exclusive new video interview with award-winning adult film star Asa Akira.

Akira discusses her path into porn and her momentous victory at this year’s 10th annual XBIZ Awards on Jan. 10, when she was crowned the 2012 XBIZ Female Performer of the Year in front of a full house at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

The Japanese-American sensation also revealed how she became a dominatrix not long after graduating from high school in New York, and that adventure soon led her to becoming a stripper at the Hustler Club. Then she met adult film star and current Penthouse Pet, Gina Lynn, and the rest now is porn history.

“When I got into the industry I said I’m not going to do anything that I don’t feel sexy doing and I’m proud of myself for actually maintaining that,” Akira said.

Akira told XBIZ that her favorite part of doing porn is “the variety,” and that she has a special affinity for European guys and fellow Asian girls.

The starlet also said that her two “Insatiable” movies for Elegant Angel stand out as career highlights. “Asa Akira is Insatiable 2,” which was directed by Mason, won the 2012 XBIZ Award for Gonzo Release of the Year.

She went on to reveal what inspires her, and even made a confession on XBIZ TV: she loves reading reviews of her adult movies.
