Acid Rain title becomes biggest selling of the year for the company

Distributors across the country have received phenomenal responses for this specific title. “As soon as the ad hit AVN, I was getting all sorts of calls,” says Russ Katz, from RSK Distributors. AVN Magazine’s cover story for their October issue was a detailed story on gonzo films. The article highlighted Acid Rain Mitchell Spinelli’s company. “The movement toward “high-end” gonzo, or extra nasty sex with high production values, has become so popular that several companies have launched new imprints either under or separate from their existing brands. This content is simply what’s hot, producers say, and in order to maintain a share of the marketplace, some have been forced to take action. ‘Within the last couple years, with the demographics changing, my stuff became antiquated really quick,’ Mitchell Spinelli, CEO of Acid Rain, referring to his old company, the softer Rain Productions, told AVN. Spinelli, son of the late AVN Hall of Fame director Anthony Spinelli, decided to change his direction and move away from Rain Productions to focus solely on Acid Rain. ‘I saw a window to be a player, like the big three motor companies in Detroit.’
