Director Wrex Oliver’s ‘Step Sisters’ Wins ‘Best Comedy Movie’ at the XMAs
(LOS ANGELES, Calif. / January 20, 2026) — Adult filmmaker Wrex Oliver is thrilled to announce that his outrageous gender reversal on the Hollywood blockbuster, “Step Brothers,” titled “Step Sisters” (Family Strokes/Reptyle) was named Best Comedy Movie at the 2026 XMAs in Hollywood.
Oliver is enjoying a breakout year, with the awards season signaling the ascent of a new king of adult parodies. His 2026 award nominations from XBIZ, in acknowledgment of his outstanding output over the past year, also included nods for the “Addams Family” parody, Wednesday, starring Freya Von Doom; as well as his debut gay feature, Sexerance (SayUncle) — a surreal, erotic twist on the lauded Apple TV series, “Severance.”
“I am incredibly honored to see ‘Step Sisters’ receive the XMA for Best Comedy Movie,” the director shared en route to The Catalina Wine Mixer. “A massive thank you to our amazing cast and crew for their hard work, and a special shout-out to Gal Ritchie and Aubree Valentine for their incredible contributions.”
“Working alongside Gal and Aubree was an absolute career highlight,” Oliver continued. “Their comedic chemistry is undeniable. Their banter and comic timing had everyone in stitches, bringing laughter and energy to the set.”
Ritchie commented at the time of the feature’s release, “’Step Sisters’ was such a blast to film. I’m a huge fan of the original film so knowing all the inside jokes and doing our own spin on them was hilarious. Aubree was fab to work alongside of; such great energy. I’m so happy I got to be a part of a fun project.”
