Adameve.com Now Available Entirely in Spanish
Hillsborough, N.C. ” Adameve.com, the world’s largest online adult retailer, became the first traditionally English-speaking adult company to offer its website in Spanish with the debut of Adameve.com en espanol.
The new site, which can be reached at http://espanol.adameveshops.com, is the focus of the PHE founder Phil Harvey. Harvey committed in January to be the first to create an all-Spanish website that allowed the user to visit the site in his or her native language.
Users can also reach the Spanish site by clicking on the globe icon at the top of the Adameve.com home page.
“This is a unique opportunity to do something that no one else is doing,” said Harvey. “We were the first on the internet and now we’re the first major American adult company to reach into this market. According to the 2000 Census, over 55 million Americans speak Spanish at home.
“This is just a natural progression for us.”
In January 2003, according to the Census Bureau, Hispanics and Latinos became the country’s largest minority. The announcement coincided with Adameve.com’s move to create a Spanish language version of the website.
“It was a technological challenge for us,” said Adameve.com CTO Sean Trotter. “In undertaking this project, we had to make a special effort to understand who we were creating this site for. It wasn’t for our traditional audience and, because of that, we made an extra effort to get it right. I’m proud of the results and of our people who put it together.
“I think we’ll see this as an important step for Adameve.com, and PHE, as we move into the future.”
The site operates entirely in Spanish including sending order confirmations and status updates in Spanish. Users will have the opportunity to speak to Spanish speaking customer service representatives, as well, if a problem should arise.
