SOMA SNAKEOIL GETS PERSONAL WITH PUNK ROCK & PAINTBRUSHES CONTRIBUTION

( HOLLYWOOD, CA ) – Throughout her career in adult entertainment, Soma Snakeoil, AKA Goddess Soma, has explored many facets of the human condition. As a fetish performer, pro-domme, writer, director and artist, Soma’s contributions to the adult industry have been varied. Her latest efforts have focused on art, education and advocacy. All of these aspects come together as she prepares to unveil her latest paintings for Punk Rock and Paintbrushes this week in Los Angeles.

Invited to participate in the Punk Rock & Paintbrushes 2017 Holiday Show, Soma has created a number of original pieces reflecting her feelings on women’s struggles and triumphs and a very personal piece inspired by her departed friend and colleague January Seraph.

This particular piece takes on a poignant meaning as discussions of depression and derision within the adult entertainment community have dominated the headlines.

“I have been working on a new piece that was inspired by the loss of my friend January Seraph earlier this year,” says Soma. “It is a deeply personal painting exploring loss of personal power. Tragedy is a part of our story that must be told. Anytime we lose one of our people by their own hand we need to reflect deeply. We can choose our response. Our community is under constant attack and scrutiny. In a divided world, we must support one another from within. We need to take a hard look at how we treat those we call family. It’s time to honor each other as sexual revolutionaries. As sexuality evolves, so does culture. We need to take that responsibility seriously by first respecting each other. ”

Punk Rock and Paintbrushes is a celebration of fine art contributed by musicians, artists and performers including Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio & Blink 182, Chali 2NA of Jurassic 5, Warren Fitzgerald of The Vandals, Hunter Burgan of AFI, Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal, Matt Hensley of Flogging Molly, Jennie Cotterill of Bad Cop Bad Cop, Steve Caballero, Natalia Fabia, Hunter Freese, Paul Kobriger, Danny Greene & Soma Snakeoil.

Punk Rock and Paintbrushes will be a spectacular evening of creativity and charity which will include a red carpet, special guest DJ, art, music and a raffle. The event will take place on December 15th in Los Angeles. More than just a great time and fine art, Punk Rock and Paintbrushes will benefit Alexandria House, a safe shelter for women and children.

Punk Rock & Paintbrushes will occur on Friday December 15th 2017 from 6-11PM at 1499 Artemus Street, Los Angeles 90033.
