Birthday Wishes, World Series & White Trash TV

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who sent along birthday wishes last week. I had a really nice day and all of the nice notes and Myspace comments made me smile. It was a really relaxing weekend of celebration with the family. No photos came in so there won’t be a birthday gallery this year. Hopefully we’ll fix that soon though. I’m supposed to get some shots of Andi Anderson when I see her and maybe we can talk Ivan into taking some shots on set since we’ve turned the weekly Playboy Radio show into the Christy Loves Ivan segment. And to those who asked, yes I got some great stuff for the B’day. Best of all I got a new ice chest with wheels and a handle for tailgating. I can’t wait for the next USC home game. No more lugging around the 1960’s ice chest. That means more beer can be carried further into the heart of campus. So if anyone wants to join us, the beer’s on me.

Darrah Ford Interview: Yes folks, the interview with Darrah is still in the works. She has the first ten questions and is taking her time to give us some well thought out answers. There have been some great questions suggested over on XXXPornTalk.com and they will be incorporated into the next wave of questions. I’ve also had a few good batches via email that I will send over. It should be interesting.

Mainstream Movies: I actually had a little time this week to give two mainstream flicks a look. The first was The Eye with Jessica Alba. It’s a cool little suspense flick. It is a remake of a Pang Brothers flick by the same name. (The Eye) The original was much better of course, but this one wasn’t too bad. Jessica Alba as the blind violinist was a nice casting choice. Some of you may recall that Wicked made an adult version of this movie, Eye of the Beholder a few years back. I think I liked the porn version better because Kaylani is even hotter than Jessica Alba. The other movie I watched was Be Kind Rewind. I originally had no interest in this movie because I’m not big on Jack Black, not at all. I found the movie interesting, but ultimately forgettable. It has a sweet center with a lot to say about being honest in ones art, but it takes forever to get anywhere. The home made movies are really funny, but by the time we sit through six of them Jack’s stupid bullshit is wearing thin. If you like Black then you won’t be as bugged as I was and if you sit through the dreadful first half then definitely stick around until the end.

World Series: By now the series is all but done with Philadelphia up 3-1 over Tampa Bay. It has been a pretty good series so far, but you just know that Fox and MLB are pulling their hair out. Of all the teams in the playoffs, this has to be one of the nightmare match ups. Seriously, Tampa? Instead of Chicago, the Angels or the freaking Red Sox? And the Phillies over the Cubs? Or the Dodgers with Torre and Manny? Perhaps only a Brewers/Rays Series could have been worse from a TV ratings standpoint. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad match up on the filed. The Phillies are solid with some young superstuds in Rollins, Howard and Hamels. The Rays are fun to watch Longoria, Crawford and Kazmir. I’ve enjoyed watching the games and hope that we get a chance to see the Series go back to Tampa. It’s been too long since we’ve had a six or seven game World Series. Even with good product on the floor I’m betting that the ratings are in the toilet.

White Trash TV: It’s time for a new season of white trash TV. What new shows have me glued to the set despite my best efforts to save my dignity? How about Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling for starters? A bunch of washed up celebs getting into the ring, learning the ropes and trying to be the next Hulk? Come on, it’s freaking great. We get to watch Butterbean smack Screech around and that’s just too good to pass up. My other new guilty pleasure? Rock of Love Charm School. That’s right folks, the skanks who proved that some chicks have no pride when it comes to chasing after a washed up rocker are back. Fake boobs, bad dye jobs, drinking problems, tattoos and delusional pinheads rule the day when these White Trash Whore rejects get together to learn some manners from Sharon Osborn. While they lack some of the ghetto fabulous bitch-itude from the Flava of Love Charm School chicks, they make up for in pure stripper skaniness. Watch it once and then just try to turn away. I dare ya.
