Award Time is Here
It’s award time again folks. Digital Playground will unveil Pirates 2 on us this weekend. I’ll be there and should have some photos and sound clips for you by Monday (or so.) Not Bewitched XXX is right around the corner and we got the first big cross over project already on the shelves. Zero Tolerance and Adam & Eve have partnered for Roller Dollz. (Read Review Here) It stars the A&E contract stars and features some hardcore gonzo sex scenes in a big scripted feature. I’m all for any movie that features roller skating, Bree Olson, Sunny Lane and good music. This one has all of that and then some. Next up on the award-train is Wicked’s Race 2 Race. Don’t you just love this time of year?

Bill Clinton is Right: Oh man, that headline has to have some people crapping their pants. Sounds nutty maybe, but Monday Mr. President put a lot of things into perspective. In discussing Governor Palin’s popularity Clinton said “I come from Arkansas, I get why she’s hot out there,” he said. “Why she’s doing well. People look at her, and they say, ‘All those kids. Something that happens in everybody’s family. I’m glad she loves her daughter and she’s not ashamed of her. Glad that girl’s going around with her boyfriend. Glad they’re going to get married.'” He went on to add “I like that little Down syndrome kid. One of them lives down the street. They’re wonderful children. They’re wonderful people. And I like the idea that this guy does those long-distance races. Stayed in the race for 500 miles with a broken arm. My kind of guy.” Best of all, the former President gave us this to think about. “My view is … why say, ever, anything bad about a person? Why don’t we like them and celebrate them and be happy for her elevation to the ticket? And just say that she was a good choice for him and we disagree with them?” We can debate back and forth about why Clinton said what he said. We can be cynical about it or idealize his words as if they didn’t come from a guy who made a good career out of demonizing opponents. The bottom line is that what he said was the truth. The attacks on Palin came swift and hard. They came before people could even decide why they hated this woman as if they were Mad Libs that needed only a name to complete them. Why do I think that Clinton’s words of wisdom will fall on deaf ears.

Yanks Out: For the first time in recent memory the Yankees won’t be in the post season. 13 years in and now, nothing. On the one hand it is fitting that Joe Torre is out in LA leading the Dodgers to playoffs in his first year out of the Bronx. On the other hand I can’t help but feel a little sad that the final game in Yankee Stadium was a meaningless Sunday night game. That just didn’t seem right.

Shock!!!!: I hope you’re all sitting down for this one. According to this week’s People cover Clay Aiken has come out of the closet. That’s right, Clay, new daddy that he is, admits that he’s gay. I don’t know which overpowering sentiment to express first. “Who cares” or “No fucking shit.” Either way, good for you man.
