It seems like, for every dud toy I review, I’m bound to discover a few good items in the barrel that top my expectations. Or so I found to be true with the case of the Navigator, a sleek, metallic-looking egg attached to a controller longer than my big-screen remote. However, it serves a purpose, offering 10 unique and incredible levels of stimulation and escalation, and multiple options for combinations of the two, all featured on the animated LED display. The Navigator seems to be the first successful hybrid of the passion toy-technology merger.

To begin with, once I had set myself up to begin exploring with the toy, I was immediately struck by how many possible combinations one could come up with between the pulsation and the vibration. I could stimulate three or four different orgasms without really putting a dent in the number of available combinations, something that I found incredibly appealing. The available speeds were different enough to be noticeable, but not so powerful as to be completely overwhelming. And the pulsations, unlike those that I’ve experienced with other toys, actually felt stimulating instead of just stupid. The Navigator lived up to its’ name, efficiently navigating me into climax.

Later, after I had a chance to reflect on the Navigator, it occurred to me how amazing it would be for couple-play, especially when you have partners of varying power situations. As for me, I prefer to be in control in the bedroom, but my usual girl-partner-in-debauchery is much more passive. I envision the two of us experimenting with the Navigator, and my more sadistic side getting incredibly turned on at the image of her being pushed over the edge by this sex toy of the millennium.

This image, as well as my own love for the sexual masochism it offers, conspire to make the Navigator one of the best toys I have ever reviewed. In fact, the silver bullet Navigator is like a stake through the heart—brief, intense and earth-shattering. From a practical sense, it seems to be the one vibrator I feel comfortable saying should be in every woman’s closet. It’s edgy, it’s hip, and it expertly pushes even the last hold-outs of the sexual revolution into the technology era.

Weaknesses: Controller could be uncomfortable to handle.

Batteries Needed: 6 AA Batteries

Clean Up: Soap and Water.
