Football Weekend, Voting Comes Down to the Wire & Trolls Sucks
Final Football Weekend: Seventeen weeks down, just the playoffs to go. This was quite an NFL season. We’ve seen the first regular season perfection since 1972, tons of records fall and a few playoff spots came down to the final weekend. In fact, as I start this, the Titans are playing for their playoff lives against the Colts. If they win, they head to San Diego next week. If the lose, it’s the Browns. The Browns? Who would have thought that? Saturday night the Patriots completed their 16-0 season and both Tom Brady and Randy Moss set major records. I found it ironic that the TD Receptions record was passed from one of the hardest working, classiest and best football players in the history of the game to one of the biggest loser, crybaby, quitters in the history of the game. For all his accomplishments this year, Randy Moss is a punk. Sorry Pats fans, but it’s true. He’s a quitter and a glory hog and is unfit to hold Jerry Rice’s jock in his fake-smiling teeth. No matter what happens with the Patriots this year, that is the one record that should make every football sick. Randy Moss is a first class loser and a quitter. The Pats had better hope things don’t get tough or this guy will shrivel up and quit on his team like he has everywhere else he’s been. Bitter much? Yeah maybe. But after hearing all the crap people gave Barry Bonds for finally passing Hank Aaron, I think that we can spend a bit of time reminding one another that Randy Moss is a punk quitter who just happened to luck into a record during a miracle season. That’s enough ink on Mr. Moss.
Eye Candy: Let’s forget about that idiot and just enjoy Jessica Difeo in all of her glory thanks to our friends at Twistys.com. I’ll bet she would never quit on us.
Fan Faves Almost Done: The voting for this year’s RogReviews Fan Faves will come to a close at midnight on New Year’s Eve. I will announce the winners on January 2nd. (That is also when the Rog Reviews Critic’s Choice Nominees will be announced.) The voting this year has been really close. We’re coming down to the wire on a few of the categories. Evil Angel, Jules Jordan Video and Digital Playground are all within 2% of each other for Favorite Company. That’s pretty impressive. Interactive Sex with Jenna Haze is just a few percentage points ahead of Babysitters for Best Movie. There is a bit of a glitch in the Best Director voting. Jules is quite a bit ahead. Bella and Robby D’s votes are counting double so they have combined for 40%. It looks like another year for Jules taking home the Best Director trophy. Jenna Haze and Manuel Ferrara have comfortable leads going into the final two days and appear to be headed towards wins in their categories. Bree Olson also has a big lead for Best Newbie. Tough to argue against her in that category. Jessica Alba leads a three-way race for Most Wanted Celebrity. I’ll still take girl number 4, Jennifer Love Hewitt any day of the week. Good luck to everyone and I look forward to passing out some trophies.

Trolls: You would think that I would have learned a thing or two during my thirteen plus years crusing internet chat boards, but I have come to realize this week that there is no corner of the net not infested by trolls. Over the years I have seen porn newsgroups and message boards ruined by these creatures. I’ve seen virtually every political discussion group reduced to a Kindergarten slug fest or an over-moderated bland nightmare due to trolls. I’ve been trying out the ESPN boards for the last couple of weeks and have found that virtually every board is infested with trolls. I have tried posting about the Chargers on their board and have found a half dozen regular trolls. Since they were playing the Raiders you might expect that these trolls would be running Raider smack. That would almost be acceptable, but it wasn’t Raider guys mucking things up. There are two or three Kansas City Chief trolls and a couple of Denver Broncos trolls who have set up camp on the Charger board. It might be fun if these guys had anything to offer, but I guess that is what makes them trolls right? Just a bunch of whiny little bitches who have nothing left to cheer for so they spend their days trying to rain on other people’s parades. What makes them special? Nothing. This sort of behavior is true of trolls the world over. Back in the RAME days we had these trolls who would just shit all over anything positive anyone said. Like a movie? They would crap on it. Think a girl is hot? They would tell you that she was ugly. Write a review? They would call you a sell out. (Sorry, that’s a little personal.) The bottom line is that these folks never had anything positive to contribute to the discussion and sought only to muck things up. Most political discussions break down to “Republicans are Stupid” or “Democrats are Morons” and other useless swipes. So I’m learning again that even sports boards are destroyed. The Celtic board is visited regularly by a couple of serious trolls from Detroit and San Antonio. Since I don’t generally visit other boards, I have no idea how bad the trolling is from “my” teams, but I’m sure it’s pretty bad. I just can’t figure it out. Sports is supposed to be fun. Why not celebrate with fellow fans instead of bringing down the level of discussion somewhere else? I know, stupid question. Like I’m going to get a troll to actually explain logically why they do something that is stupid, immature and illogical. So the big question is….what to I expect from a pig but a grunt? Oh and now that the game is over, I think it’s time to go see what the Laker trolls have to say about the serious ass-whoppin they just got. At least I won’t go trolling. I’ll just smile here and realize that today was a good rivalry day. Bolts over the Raiders and Celts over the Lakers. Not a bad day.
