Bad News Isn’t Always Bad

I was all ready to make this blog about bad news that makes me sad and bad news that made me happy. Then I got two emails in less than 24 hours with actual bad news that kind of dampened my spirits a bit. Two people close to me have suffered terrible losses and this kind of bad news makes the stuff in the rest of this blog seem a little bit silly. I’m going to go ahead with the blog because this site is supposed to a break from the serious stuff that goes on. My thoughts and prayers are with my two friends and their families today.

Eye Candy: Wow Extreme Holly shows us a unique way to store two flashlights at once. Makes you wonder what stuff she has reserved for the members-only section.

Bad News That Makes Me Sad: It’s been a few days, but I read about the death of Stu Nahan and it has me remembering him. Those of you who aren’t from SoCal will probably still remember Stu from the Rocky movies and from his classic interview with Spicolli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. He was an old school sports guy who wasn’t trying to be a stand up comedian or a smack talking tough guy. Stu followed sports with a passion and in the days before 24/7 ESPN, brought us highlights and insights on the teams we loved (or hated). The new crop of LA sportscasters are such annoying ass clowns that they make the D-squad on ESPN look great. Stu was the man and he is missed. To read more about Stu, check out the LA Times Story

Eye Candy: How about some ideal boobs from Liana and the folks at IdealBoobs.com

Bad News That Makes Me Happy: Yeah, I know I know. If it makes me happy then it probably isn’t bad news at all is it. Well this is bad news for Paris Hilton and damn me, but it makes me smile. Paris’ 80 year old grandfather Baron announced this week that he plans to donate 97% of his 2.3 billion dollar fortune to charity. The money will be placed in a charitable trust that will eventually benefit the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Its eventual value is estimated at 4.5 billion. The foundation supports projects that provide clean water in Africa, education for blind children, and housing for the mentally ill. Apparently granddad is embarrassed by and ashamed of his vapid, soulless granddaughter and her ridiculous lifestyle. See, the rich aren’t all bad. This guy makes me want to go stay in a Hilton.

Eye Candy: And if that wasn’t good enough how about a couple of hot girls getting blow banged.

That’s all for today. A little bit of trivial good news/bad news to offset whatever else might be going on.
