Round 2, New Interview & AVN Nom Report Coming
Fan Faves: Round 2:: Round two has begun. We’re down to the top 20 everyone. Thanks for voting in round one. Ballots were sent out to everyone who has confirmed their registration. If you did not get a ballot, check your old mail and make sure you confirmed. If not, then you didn’t get a ballot for that reason. Also please check your spam filters. All ballots will come from Rog@Rogreviews.com. If you did confirm and still don’t get a ballot, email me and I will take a look. If you are having other troubles voting, shoot me an email and I will take care of it. Trust me when I say that the security measures are necessary. Eye Candy: OK voting patterns are interesting, but can someone please explain why Gianna Michaels didn’t make round two? She’s fucking perfect guys. Have you ever seen better tits? EVER? Gianna, sorry you didn’t make it, but please don’t hold it against me. I really want to interview you this year.
New Interivew: jessica drake: It took a while, but I finally uploaded my interview with Wicked Pictures contract star jessica drake. You can Read/Listen to the interview here. She had to rush off at the end for some guy named Kriss Angel or something, but I was able to get some good stuff before she left. jessica addresses her issues with capitol letters, describes herself as a feature girl who likes to fuck like a gonzo girl and talks about how she prepared for her role in Manhunters. I hope you enjoy the interview and please, feedback. I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who actually listens to the audio.

AVN Nominations: OK, same rule as last year. I’m not going to go into too much details because I have been asked to vote. I consider it an honor and don’t want to ruffle too many feathers. However, Paul has told me that he doesn’t mind at all if I discuss the nominees even if I have issues with some of them. Keep in mind folks, the nomination process is really, really hard. It’s nearly an impossible job and the easiest thing in the world to do is tear it down by pointing out who got snubbed and who doesn’t deserve to be on the list. So forgive me if I tend to celebrate those who did get nominated more often than I slam the noms for who they left off. (Don’t worry though, I have a few WTFs as well.) First up, because Den asked about it, will be the Unsung Starlet of the Year award. This is a fairly new one for AVN. XRCO has had it for years and I have always like this category. So many of the AVN trophies go to the big names and for good cause. The business recognizes the Jenna Jamesons and the Tera Patricks and the Janines and the Serentiys because they are stars. No problem with that. But I’m a raincoater at hear dammit. For every Ginger Lynn there was a Buffy Davis. A few years back, AVN did start recognizing the big time gonzo girls. Kaitlyn Ashley, Aurora Snow, Bridgette Kerkove and Hillary Scott are among those hard-fucking cuties who have walked away with the big hard ware. Now that AVN seems ready to give the awards to gonzo girls and contract girls who fuck like gonzo girls, they are trying to recognize those women who turn up in a lot of movies, give us great scenes, but who don’t pick up the big recognition. Here is the list.

Since we don’t have a set criteria for this award, let’s establish one. For THIS DISCUSSION only, let’s say that it should be for women who are great performers (possibly great actresses) and who don’t get the big props. That means that a lot of these women fit. Trina Michaels and Mis Rose stand out for me right away. Mia might still be a little new to be put in the Unsung starlet. She is good enough and hot enough that she should be “sung.” Trina has been around a while, isn’t what the industry would call a “star” but if you ask a porn consumer about Trina, they will certainly know that she is great in scenes and is always good for a stroke or two. I think that Adrianna Nicole fits into this cateory as well, but she is a bit new, isn’t she. Just like Bobbi Starr. Come on, give her a chance before you unsing her. I like seeing Brooke Haven, Gianna Lynn and Faith Leon on this list. I do think that these women have flown mostly under the radar and all of them are hot. How about some women who didn’t make this list? Mika Tan? Alana Evans? Cindy Crawford? How about Dana DeArmond and Joanna Angel? These women have been in some high profile projects, can act a bit and by the way, in case you hadn’t noticed….give great scenes. No Performer or Unsung noms for them? I think they both got overlooked. The biggest name on this list is a big surprise. Gianna (Gianna Michaels) is easily one of the hottest women in the industry. She gives great scenes, has one of the best racks in the history of the biz and (I would argue) deserves to be up there for Performer of the Year. If we factor that in, then I guess she really does belong on this list. Somehow Gianna managed not to get nominated for Performer, so here she is. Unsung by definition. Not a bad list overall.
