So Many Negative Vibes, Where is the Love?

Words, Words, Words: With people coming down on both sides of the whole “Nappy Headed Ho’s” thing, I knew that the email would be coming. If you follow the message boards you will see that there are a number of sane, measured voices calling for a change in tone. There are just as many voices, equally measured that point out the dangers of putting limits on free speech in our industry. You all know where I stand on the issue overall. I’m not quite ready to ban things based on whether or not some people find them offensive. After all, a majority of people in this country would find virtually every porn movie on the shelves to be “offensive” and I absolutely would not want to give them the power to ban movies based on this fact. Personally I can understand how someone would find the term “ho” to be offensive, but again I don’t think the word should be banned. I know that I have used words in my reviews for years that some people find offensive. In my reviews I use the word “slut” quite often. “Whore” shows up much more rarely (and usually when describing a character someone is playing in a feature) and “ho” is sprinkled in even more sparingly. Some of you have called me on it over the years and I’ve listened. I admit to writing “in character” and to an audience that understands that when I call a girl a “good slut” in a review, that it is a compliment. Porn is about fantasy and the women who perform in front of the camera are selling the fantasy that they live for sex. When they perform in a scene that makes us think “wow, she just loves fucking all the time” then she is in fact acting like a slut and that’s a good thing. Interestingly enough though, I almost never use these same words in conversation. In fact, when I hear them used I am somewhat taken aback. In Vegas this year, a good friend of mine from before his days in the business was throwing the term “whores” around in place of “women”, “girls”, “ladies” or any other word for female. I was honestly shocked because I had never heard him speak like this. I don’t think he’s a bad guy at all, but I did feel the sting of the words after a while. There are words you won’t find in my reviews of course. Some are obvious racial, ethnic and orientation slurs. Those words are not part of my vocabulary even in a review. Other words that I find offensive and don’t normally use would include “fat” and “ugly.” Some people may disagree with word choice or find terms offensive, but are we really ready to ban words? Come on, I’ve spouted off. What do you think? Would you refuse to buy a movie based on an offensive title? Would you boycott a company that puts out such a movie? Would you refuse to go to a web site where the writers regularly use offensive terms?

Eye Candy: For those of you who like chicks in specs, here is Rachel from JizzOnGlasses.com. Glasses and braces? Double the fetish, double the fun.

ADT: Since we were talking about words and people getting bent out of shape, we might as well start talking about some of the serious negative vibes being tossed around. According to a couple of threads over on Adult DVD Talk there is a lot of hate aimed at Digital Playground. It is also apparent that Jules Jordan is still willing to mix it up a bit. What I saying last week about the negative tone and how everyone seems to be adding to it? You all know how much I like Jules and his work. (If you don’t just ask my friend Skeeter Kerkove, he’ll tell you.) I also happen to think that a lot of people may be missing some very good stuff from Robby D lately. It seems like everyone is lining up and taking sides. Me? I think that when two really good directors try to outdo one another, the real winners are the fans who get even better porn to stroke to. That’s what I think. What about you? And not for nothing, but if you’re a porn fan who loves Jules’ work (As I do) how do you make the leap that someone like Robby is the worst director in porn. It really seems like people have some personal axes to grind. Enough of that, I need to go transcribe my Jules Jordan interview.

Eye Candy: Somehow I don’t think anyone will be offended by Gallery from Huge Boobs Galore.

YouTube: Wow, speaking of offended. My YouTube.com account got shut down. Why? Offensive content. Want to know what was so offensive? Here it is. This horrible, nasty, awful of Whitney Stevens eating a sandwich. I have appealed of course but I don’t know what they are going to do about it. Come on, that’s probably the tamest freaking thing. Seems like someone kind of singled out my video for some reason.

Eye Candy: This would not be YouTube approved. Big Butts Galore Enjoy.
