SexZ Pictures to Hold First Open Casting Call for the Year’s Biggest Feature
Los Angeles ” Director Eli Cross has announced the first open casting call for Upload, his new big-budget feature for SexZ Pictures. The auditions will be held on Friday, April 20th, at Cross’ loft and office in downtown L.A.
SexZ’s Corruption, written and directed by Cross, won seven AVN awards including Best Video and Best Director, three Adam Film World Guide Awards including Best Movie, and three XRCO Awards including Best Epic.
Upload will have a 20-day shooting schedule beginning May 22nd and running into June, for a release in late September. The feature is budgeted at a quarter of a million dollars and promises to be every bit as high-profile and controversial as Corruption.
If talent have a strong desire to audition, they are encouraged to contact Cross directly to set up an audition rather than assuming their agent will handle it.
“We’ll still book people through their respective agencies, obviously,” explains Cross. “But my experience is that a few of the agents have no interest in scheduling auditions for their performers. Since it doesn’t pay, they just can’t be bothered.”
Before they ask to read, however, Cross wants talent to consider the difficulty of the feature.
“Talent need to understand before they submit for the show that this is not and easy project,” says Cross. “It isn’t going to be like any porn feature they’ve ever worked on. It’s long days, it’s hard work, it’s serious work. We shoot like a real movie which means a lot of coverage and shooting things over and over until we get them right. There are people who want to show up, fuck, and go home, and that’s fine. If that’s what you want to do, great. Save us both some trouble and don’t come in and read for me–because god forbid you’re really good, and then I want to use you, and you get annoyed because you’re there more than three hours.”
“Also, I do not shoot ‘feature’ sex,” continues Cross. “SexZ’s entire goal is big features with sex that’s harder than the hardest gonzo on the market. If that scares you, this probably isn’t the right project for you.”
