Though the winners may reflect a slightly different porn-sensibility than the readers of this site, I think that they did a great job of acknowledging some of the best DVDs in the businss. I am especially happy to see Eye of the Beholder do so very well in the Empire Awards.
2004 Empire Award Winners Announced

“Our awards are different because we focus on DVDs, not just movies. We’re looking for companies that put out quality DVDs,” said Mike Barry, Director of Adult Operations at Adult DVD Empire. “Making a quality DVD goes beyond just shooting great content, you have to transfer it properly to DVD, make the menus, take some time to add extra features for the fans and a host of other details. Making an award winning adult DVD is an art in itself and should be recognized,” Barry finished
Among this year’s big winners were Wicked Picture’s Eye of the Beholder for Best Menu Design, Best Feature DVD, Best DVD Extras and the coveted Editors Choice Award. Digital Playground won the largest number of awards, taking home the award for Best Overall Studio as well as Viewers Choice Award for their blockbuster release, Island Fever 3. Island Fever 3 also nabbed the awards for Best All-Sex DVD, Best DVD Video and Best DVD Commentary.
