MERCENARY PICTURES GARNERS EIGHT AVN NOMS

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. — With less than a year since Mercenary Pictures took over its own distribution, the company garnered eight nominations for the 2005 AVN Awards Show.

Mercenary Pictures’ list of nominations includes Best Ethnic-Themed Release — Black for Black Reign 3, Best Ethnic-Themed Series for the Black Reign line, and Best P.O.V. Release for Pole Position: Lex POV.

The company also received performance nominations for Lexington Steele, owner of Mercenary Pictures, and Katsumi’s scene in Lex Steele XXX 3 for Best Anal Sex Scene, ManHammer 2 for Best Group Sex Scene — Video featuring Mandy Bright, Frank Gunn, Brian Pumper and Zenza Raggi, and Bright in ManHammer 2 for Best Tease Performance.

The Mutt Brothers were also selected for their work on ManHammer 2 for Best Editing — Video, and ManHammer for Best VHS Packaging.

“I want to thank AVN for the nominations,” Steele said. “This is the first AVN Awards Mercenary Pictures will be represented in since it has taken over its own distribution. The nods reflect Mercenary’s dedication to being the best in adult.

“I’ve always wanted to increase the bar in the ethnic genre and the noms for Black Reign and Black Reign 3 for Best Ethnic-Themed Series and Best Ethnic-Themed Release — Black shows the critics recognize this as well.
Pole Position: Lex POV’s nomination for Best P.O.V. Release and the three performance nods from ManHammer 2 and Lex Steele XXX 3 demonstrates Mercenary’s commitment to producing high-quality scenes hasn’t gone unnoticed. The nominations for the Mutt Brothers’ work on ManHammer 2 for Best Editing — Video, and Best VHS Packaging, with regards to ManHammer, round out the dedication to quality Mercenary has to it’s fans and customers.”

Steele anticipates Mercenary’s continuing acclaim to rise.

“All I’m interested in is that Mercenary puts out the best product,” he said. “We’ve carefully considered each step in our growth and we’re meeting our goal of quality.”

Winners will be announced on Jan. 8, 2005 at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.
