Rog Review Fan Faves: Directors

Best Director

Bracket 1
Johnny Darkko

Jewel De’Nyle

Max Hardcore

Jules Jordan

Skeeter Kerkove

Michael Ninn

Michael Raven

Pierre Woodman

Jules Jordan is the perennial favorite here so pencil him at number one. Who will join him? Good question. Darkko is the shining star right now and he’s damn good. Jewel’s movies have a good fan base. Max is always popular though I wonder how many of his hard-core fans are still reading my site to vote. Ninn and Raven will probably get beat and set off the annual “gonzo vs feature” debate that happens when all the feature guys get their asses kicked. Woodman is a wild card and Skeeter Kerkove has a huge following. This bracket probably has five guys who could compete for second place.
Rog’s Prediction: Jules Jordan & Skeeter Kerkove

Rog’s Vote: Jules Jordan

Bracket 2

Christoph Clark

Mark Kismet

Peter North

Alan Payet

Tyrone Shuz

Joey Silvera

Lexington Steele

Chris Streams

Joey and Christoph may split the Evil Empire vote in this bracket, but I wouldn’t be shocked if both of them advance. Mark Kismet is really good, but probably doesn’t have enough movies out there to really compete. Lex should make a good showing with Peter North as long shots.
Rog’s Prediction: Joey Silvera & Christoph Clark

Rog’s Pick: Joey Silvera

Bracket 3

Silvio Bandinelli

Guy Capo

Dale Jordan

Wit Maverick

Antonio Passolini

John Staglinao

Nicolas Steele

Frank Thring

John Stagliano is head and shoulders above the competition. If he doesn’t make out of the first round I will be shocked. Second place is open. Passolini is a great director, but I don’t know if he’s done quite enough this year to beat out Guy Capo who has done some good work and has the board support and AVN nominations to get him into the next round.

Rog’s Prediction: John Stagliano & Guy Capo

Rog’s Vote: John Stagliano

Bracket 4

James Avalon

Seymore Butts

Ben Dover

Erik Everhard

Andrew Madness

Mason

Mike Metropolis

Rocco Siffredi

This one should be really interesting. Erik Everhard, Seymore Butts, Rocco and Mason will probably fight it out for the two slots. That leaves guys like Madness, Ben, Avalon and Mike Metropolis out. (That’s a pretty talented group.) I would have to say that Rocco has the upper hand, but after that it’s a toss up. Mason has the board support, but has she done enough movies to beat out Everhard and Butts?
Rog’s Predictions: Rocco & Seymore Butts

Rog’s Vote: Erik Everhard

Bracket 5

Max Bellochio

David Aaron Clark

Denis Marti

Jessica Nilsson

Jim Powers

Mike Quasar

Nacho Vidal

Thomas Zupko

This one is packed with guys who don’t get enough credit in these polls or from AVN. Jim Powers, David Aaron Clark, Mike Quasar and Thomas Zupko all deserve to make it. I think that one of them is going to finish second behind Nacho in this one though he could get shocked.
Rog’s Predictions: Nacho Vidal & Jim Powers

Rog’s Vote: Jim Powers (It’s about damn time)

Bracket 6

TT Boy

Stoney Curtis

Sal Genoa

Veronica Hart

Mike John

Clive McClean

Justin Slayer

Jerome Tanner

Mike John is the raincoater favorite here, but Justin Slayer seems to be the flavor of the week. They should be fighting it out for the top slot. There are plenty of other names that could sneak in there. TT does a lot of good stuff, Sal is carrying a lot of weight at Anabolic and of course Clive McLean is the man behind Hustler’s Barely Legal movies.
Rog’s Prediction: Justin Slayer & Mike John

Rog’s Pick: Mike John

Bracket 7

AlexD

Brandon Iron

Corey Jordan

Bud Lee

Susi Medusa Gottardi

Ed Powers

Mario Salieri

Bryan Xin

This one should be a two man race between Bryan Xin and Brandon Iron. There are a few quality names on the list behind them, but none with really big fan support. Ed Powers is still selling plenty of movies so if everyone who is buying them shows up to vote he could shock us all.
Rog’s Predictions: Brandon Iron & Bryan Xin

Rog’s Vote: Bryan Xin

Bracket 8

Brad Armstrong

Andrew Blake

Tom Byron

Chico Wang

Alex Ladd

Michael Stefano

Van Styles

Paul Thomas

Paul Thomas never polls well and neither does Andrew Blake. Tom Byron is a former winner and the rest of the field is pretty strong. Brad Armstrong might be the best chance feature directors have in this poll, but he has his work cut out for him. Van Styles is shaping up to be the next Darkko, Chico Wang has been a part of unusual fan voting polls before and Alex Ladd is a very under-rated director who should poll well.
Rog’s Prediction: Michael Stefano & Tom Byron

Rog’s Pick: Alex Ladd (I would vote for Chico, but he has that covered.)
