Controversial Elegant Angel director Thomas Zupko received the award for International Director of the Year at the 2003 Barcelona Erotic Film Festival, held this October 1st-5th in Barcelona, Spain. Zupko beat out John Stagliano, Nacho Vidal, Mario Salieri, and Bella Maestrini.

“This is really a great honor,” Zupko says, “especially because, truth be told, I didn’t even know I was nominated. I guess, at least according to Spain anyway, I’m the best director in the world. Hell, maybe I’ll start speaking Spanish in appreciation. Muchas Twatas!”

Zupko, whose “magnum opus” for Elegant, OPERA, was just released this past September, insists however that the “best is yet to come.”

“Although many people love or hate what I do,” the mad XXX auteur explains, “the acknowledgement means a hell of a lot to me. As I didn’t attend the show, I’ll give my acceptance speech here: Ladies and Gentlemen, I am not a crook and furthermore I did not defile your daughter, your honor–I swear! But, on a more serious level, folks, in the next year I plan on shooting some of the most kick-ass cutting edge porn this planet has ever seen, a New World Order of ass, twats, and cocks!”

Zupko just finished a scene for SODOMANIA ALL STAR JAM #2 with Lauren Phoenix and Mick Blue he says is one of the hottest couplings he has ever witnessed as a director.

“Lauren’s got this big ol’ butt that is so perfect you just want to propose to it,” Zupko says, ” and Mick turned it into raw hamburger. William H. –one of the most underrated cameramen and directors in the business–absolutely kicked ass on camera and I think all of us were so blown away by the intensity of the scene we literally stumbled into our cars on the way back to Chatsworth. All you guys rocked! Thank you!”

Evil Angel’s THE FASHIONISTAS led the pack with five awards, including Best Cinematography and Belladona for Best Actress. John Stagliano also won the Life-Time Career award. For all winners, please visit: http://www.ficeb.com/ing/ninfai.htm
