WICKED Launches BRAD ARMSTRONG’s ‘Carnal’ Starring JESSICA DRAKE With #CarnallyInclusive Social Media Campaign

LOS ANGELES, CA – (AUGUST 8, 2018) – Global adult entertainment innovator Wicked Pictures today announced the release of acclaimed director Brad Armstrong’s big budget opus Carnal online and on DVD. Starring Wicked Girl jessica drake and a richly diverse cast, the veteran filmmaker’s second production of 2018 is a mesmerizing 2 1/2 hour fantasia of beauty, sensuality and inclusion. Co-starring Mercedes Carrera, Kaylani Lei, Angela White, Natassia Dreams, Lily Lane, Sean Michaels and many more, the film’s multi-pronged promotional push includes a social media campaign, dubbed #CarnallyInclusive, that will showcase each cast member.

Although still in its first week of release, Carnal and its award-winning stars are already the subject of multiple deep-dive profiles in the industry’s top trade publications. XBIZ spoke at length with Armstrong and drake, with the director observing that while many of his blockbuster releases boast intricate scripts and characterizations, Carnal is one of his visually driven, heavily art directed projects. “This has a wide variety of different characters and groups of people and sets that go along with them,” he revealed. “Carnal is all over the board, from latex slaves, to steampunk, to ice queens, to Asian princesses, to Egyptian gods.”

For her part, drake told XBIZ she saw the new film as a natural extension of ideas she initially explored in Armstrong’s jessica drake is Wicked, including working with trans women. “It was two or three years in the making. And when I was finally able to do that [in last year’s jessica drake is Wicked] it was both a big deal and not such a big deal. I loved it. There was conversation initially within the company, like, ‘Do we just put this on the internet version and not include it on the DVD? Do we put it on the DVD with a disclaimer?’ Obviously I was against that, because why are you gonna tell somebody how to feel about something before they see it? I wanted people to buy the showcase movie because it was reflective of my work as a performer and then see things in it that they might not watch otherwise. I think that this movie is sort of a continuation of that; it’s more of my dreams and my fantasies and things that I wanna do and an expression of my sexuality.” (To read the feature in its entirety, go to https://bit.ly/2uS1K41.)

In the on-set report published by AVN, Carnal co-star and Hall of Fame actor Sean Michaels likened Armstrong’s visually opulent style and tireless work ethic to those of the European masters he worked with early in his career. “This reminds me of back in the day,” he said fondly. “Back in the mid-nineties, we used to go to Europe to shoot, in castles, in costumes, with people like Joe D’Amato. This is what its about. Erotic entertainment at its highest level. This project is innovative.” (To read the full story, visit https://bit.ly/2OlDeQS.}

In addition to drake, Armstrong, and Michaels, the diverse cast includes trans star Natassia Dreams, Lily Lane, Karma RX, Angela White, Tommy Gunn, Ryan Driller, Small Hands, Mercedes Carrera, Eric Masterson, Tia Kai, Nyomi Star, Kaylani Lei, Marica Hase, Ana Foxxx, and Ember Snow.

As part of the Carnal promotional roll-out, Wicked is celebrating diversity with the #CarnallyInclusive social media campaign. Beginning Wednesday, August 8th and running 18 consecutive weekdays, each performer in the cast will receive a day of online tribute, including exclusive safe-for-work photo content from their scene in the movie. And once each day, the film’s safe-for-work trailer will be released on Twitter. The first follower of twitter.com/wickedpictures to respond with “[spotlight performer] is #CarnallyInclusive” will receive a free copy of the movie on DVD.

“From Hall of Fame veterans to those who’ve never shot for Wicked before, everyone will be treated as the first among equals,” said media liaison Daniel Metcalf. “We were honored to have such an incredible and diverse cast, and we look forward to spending the month of August giving each performer the spotlight they deserve. A report published by UCLA’s Ralph Bunche Center, Flipping The Script, makes an inspirational point: ‘America’s increasingly diverse audiences prefer diverse content created with the input of diverse talent.'”

For her part, jessica drake has continued to thank Armstrong and Wicked for allowing her the freedom to explore and expand the spirit of inclusion and acceptance she brings to her work. “My passion comes from personal experience,” the three-time AVN Best Actress winner said thoughtfully. “From the idea we are all connected.”
