What good timing. I just watched some cheesy David Cassidy bio-pic on TV this weekend so my Partridge memories are fresh in my head. As I sit down to watch the porno version this squeaky clean family show I am reminded that it really was nearly as wholesome and cheesy as the Brady Bunch. While this family dynamic isn’t quite as fraught with sexual tension, there are still plenty of sexy combinations used in this movie. The story is simple and reminds me of something we might have seen on the Monkees years ago. Poor Keith is in a slump and can’t write songs until he gets laid. Little brother Danny orders some stuff from a magazine that makes people irresistible to the opposite sex. Nick Manning is appropriately cheesy as Keith and gets to take on three chicks in the finale. This is one of his better performances so hats off to him. I don’t think this quite reaches the same level as the Brady movies or Bewitched, but Not the Partridge Family is a really good porn comedy with great music a fun story and better sex than you might think.
