Evil Angel Scores 80 AVN Nominations!

Signature Showcase, TS Content Cited Among Honors For Work Of 20 Studio Directors

LOS ANGELES, November 20, 2018 — AVN has announced nominations for its 2019 Awards extravaganza, and Evil Angel hauled in 80 of them. This year the leading adult studio made a specialty of intimate star showcases, and the voters behind “The Oscars Of Porn” noticed — AVN recognized 15 movies in the Best Star Showcase category, and Evil took six of those nods. As usual, AVN cited Evil Angel’s pioneering TS content. Overall, AVN acknowledged the work of 20 of Evil’s diverse directors for accolades, and 27 noms went to the company’s prestigious Evil Angel Films imprint.

“I am proud that Evil Angel continues to produce cutting-edge content,” said studio founder John Stagliano. “We work on our relationship to talent and directors. It is not a given that we will continue to have great product. But this was a good end of the year, and next year we will be working hard to continue the success.”

“I Am Angela,” Evil Angel Films’ hardcore documentary on reigning AVN Female Performer Of The Year Angela White, earned a half-dozen nominations, including Best Star Showcase and Best Director — Non-Feature, for filmmaker Evil Chris. The star’s performance with Chanel Santini got a Best Transsexual Sex Scene nom, and her crazy encounter with legendary Rocco Siffredi is under consideration for Best Anal Sex Scene. AVN also lauded “I Am Angela” with a Best Editing nomination, for Evil Ricky, and in the Best Marketing Campaign — Individual Project category.

Veteran director Chris Streams came to Evil Angel this year, and his “Ariana Marie: A Little Bit Harder” explored the title star’s graduation to harder sex. AVN recognized the movie with nominations for Best Star Showcase, Best Director, Best Double Penetration Sex Scene (Ariana with Markus Dupree and Steve Holmes) and Best Girl-Girl Scene (Ariana with Jill Kassidy).

Talented European performer/director Misha Cross’ immigration status has kept her out of the U.S. (and recent AVN Awards shows), so she channeled her sadness and frustration into “Misha In Exile” for Evil Angel Films. AVN acknowledged the bewitching movie with six nominations, including Best Star Showcase, Best Cinematography, Best Solo/Tease Performance, Best Foreign-Shot Anal Sex Scene and Best Foreign-Shot All-Girl Sex Scene. The movie’s AVN-nominated Best Soundtrack was created by one of Misha’s costars, Samantha Bentley.

“Katrina Jade: Addicted To Black,” by stylish director Jonni Darkko, took a Best Star Showcase nomination along with plaudits for Best Oral Sex Scene (an interracial blowbang) and Best Three-Way Sex Scene. AVN also acknowledged Darkko’s “Taste Of Honey,” a Honey Gold vehicle, in the Best Star Showcase category. Crossover superstar Lisa Ann forged a performing/directing comeback at Evil Angel this year, and AVN rewarded “Lisa Ann: Back 4 More” with Best Star Showcase and Best Marketing Campaign — Individual Project recognition.

A couple of additional Evil Angel Films releases found AVN Awards consideration: Stagliano’s “Leigh Raven Prove Something,” a star showcase/feature, took nominations for Best Soundtrack and Most Outrageous Sex Scene (Leigh and Kissa Sins). Darkko’s “Angela By Darkko,” a companion showcase to “I Am Angela,” garnered seven big nominations, including Best Group Sex Scene, Best Oral Sex Scene, Best Marketing Campaign, Best Solo/Tease Performance and Most Outrageous Sex Scene, plus two for Darkko himself: Best Director — Non-Feature and Best Soundtrack.

AVN nominated provocative director Aiden Starr’s showcase “Aubrey Kate: TS Superstar” for Best Transsexual Movie, and Aubrey’s scene with six men received a nod for Best Transsexual Sex Scene. Trans porn aficionado Joey Silvera’s “The Trans X-Perience #7” also landed a Best Transsexual Movie nomination.

AVN recognized the luminous Ms. Kate in the Transsexual Performer Of The Year category. Evil Angel anal contract star Katrina Jade took a Female Performer Of The Year nomination. Two Evil director/performers, Mick Blue and Jessy Jones, earned Male Performer Of The Year nods.

It was a great year at Evil Angel — in addition to the directors listed above, Aiden Riley, BAM Visions, Blackmailed.com, Bryan Gozzling, Jay Sin, Jazz Duro, LeWood, Nacho Vidal, Proxy Paige, Rocco Siffredi and Toni Ribas all had work nominated for the 2019 AVN Awards, which will be presented Saturday January 26 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
