Addresses Questions About Incest, Features, Etc.

Rog’s AEBN Theater

A few days ago I posted an email from a reader named Mark. Read Article Here. He asked about possible incest scenes in TV parodies, wondered why gonzo companies don’t try these and had a few other questions about this budding genre. Director Will Ryder read Mark’s email and took the time to personally answer the email. With his permission I am printing that email. Great information here Will, thank you very much.

Will Ryder Writes:

Hello Rog,
I wanted to answer your viewer’s email questions regarding TV porn parodies.
First off I am very happy to see that people are enjoying our TV parody movies. We have fun making them and I love it when people tell me how much they love them or how much hate them.

The reason why incest is not used more often (other than the fact it is a bit creepy) is because it restricts the size of the purchasing audience. The Adam & Eve sales catalogue for instance will not sell a title with depictions of incest therefore we now keep it out of our X-Play movies.

Your reader Mark Heston must have watched our big Brady Bunch sequel- Not the Bradys XXX Marcia Marcia Marcia and not the original Bradys movie because Not the Bradys XXX does have incest with Greg banging Marcia in a ‘fantasy’ sequence which unfortunately kept the movie from being included in the coveted Adam & Eve catalogue. So we learned that lesson the hard way. Plus if you lay all of your cards on the table and have Jack for instance banging Janet and Chrissy in Not Three’s Company XXX, you have very little room to grow the show into a multi-volume series.

Although X-Play (distributed by Hustler and also by Adam & Eve Pictures) is generally credited with bringing back this form of movie, Hustler is not the only other company that is putting out comedy spoofs. Our smash hit and AVN Best Sex Comedy winner Not Bewitched XXX was distributed by Adam & Eve Pictures and now our good friends over at New Sensations are having some fun as well in this genre. It all comes down to how well the movies are made that determines the level of success as the audience is not dumb but is rather appreciative of a fine effort that reflects extra work needed to make these movies work.

Most gonzo or all-sex studios are either not well prepared to produce story-driven movies nor do they want to spend the additional time putting in the overall increase in effort and money to make a great parody. It takes a seriously large amount of time, effort and money to make a good one although the three studios you mentioned are all top-notch production houses.

Although I don’t like to comment about other companies and their movies that I think suck, I just watched a Facts of Life parody and it was horribly brutal. I can’t even call it a piece of shit because that would be an insult to well, you get the picture. Shame on them for creating something so lousy which is part of the trouble with the porn industry where many copy cat producers simply put out terrible product in an effort to cash in. So let the buyer beware but also be glad that only a few studios take the time and spend the money required to create the best product possible. Stick with the companies with the best parody reputations or with companies that have produced movies that you have enjoyed. Chances are their other movies will be good and you will like them too.

In early March, X-Play just wrapped production on a spoof of Married with Children starring Kagney Linn Karter and Brittany O’Connell that is going to be great for TV and porn fans. It comes out in September through Hustler Video which by the way has their version of Happy Days coming out soon. However, I think we are going to deliver the jizz bomb of all porn parodies when our spoof of The Cosby Show hits in early June so look out for that one.

One last thing I want to add. Although porn parody is enjoying a big resurgence and we are riding the wave, it is not new. Hall of Fame director Roy Karch first did this in the 1980s paving the way for directors such as myself to create fun, new works that the audience loves.

I hope this answers Mark Heston’s and other viewers’ questions. Check out our funny movies at www.sitcums.com and pick them up on DVD in stores or on video on demand via the AEBN theater network.

Thank you,

Will Ryder, director
