NEW SENSATIONS/ DIGITAL SIN RECEIVE 41 NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2017 XBIZ AWARDS!
‘Submission of Emma Marx: Exposed’ Earns 10 Nominations!
New Sensations/Digital Sin received 41 combined nominations for the 2017 XBIZ Awards, including Studio of the Year and Director of the Year – Body of Work honors for Jacky St. James, Eddie Powell, and Paul Woodcrest. Works honored this year include the acclaimed conclusion to the “Emma Marx” trilogy, “The Submission of Emma Marx: Exposed,” a variety of volumes from newly launched all-girl imprint “The Lesbian Experience,” and William H.’s New Sensations debut “Wetter Better Asses.”
“We’re grateful for the support XBIZ shows us every year and for their acknowledgement of our projects and filmmakers this award season,” New Sensations/Digital Sin President Scott Taylor said. “It’s been an exciting and fruitful year and we’re further encouraged by the recognition.”
“The Submission of Emma Marx: Exposed,” the third and final chapter in New Sensations’ acclaimed trilogy, leads the studio’s nominations with 10, including Feature Movie of the Year and Best Screenplay and directing honors for Jacky St. James. Eddie Powell is nominated for the film’s editing and haunting cinematography. Acting leads Penny Pax and Richie Calhoun, along with supporting player Ryan Driller, are also acknowledged with nominations for their roles in one of adult cinema’s most enthralling and complicated love stories.
“XBIZ has supported me throughout my career and I am grateful for all the nominations they have bestowed upon me this year,” Jacky St. James said. “The conclusion of ‘Emma Marx’ has been a bittersweet highlight for me this year and to see it and everyone involved with its production – behind and in front of the camera – acknowledged is extremely rewarding.”
St. James is also recognized for her scripted vignette work with two Director of the Year – Non-Feature noms for “Tales From the Heart: The Proposal” and “Tales From the Edge: A Hotwife Blindfolded 2.” In addition, St. James’ “Tales From the Heart” produced series “A Lesbian Romance” found nominations for “All-Girl Series of the Year” and “All-Girl Release of the Year.”
Digital Sin’s all-girl glamour imprint “The Lesbian Experience” earns five nominations in its debut year. “An Unexpected Encounter,” a pseudo-documentary on the sexual exploits of lesbian strangers written and directed by St. James, is nominated for All-Girl Release of the Year – Feature and scored acting honors for Sara Luvv. The imprint also saw nominations for its Eddie Powell-directed outings “A Soft Touch” and “Dominance & Submission” for All-Girl Series of the Year and BDSM Release of the Year, respectively.
“Part of the fun of what we do is the opportunity to be creative both technically and thematically and to see what kind of response we get from viewers and peers,” Eddie Powell said. “It’s always an honor to be recognized for our work.”
Visionary gonzo director William H. made his New Sensations debut this year with the release of “Wetter Better Asses,” a stylish comeback vehicle featuring William H.’s pioneering camerawork and affinity for ass-worship and oil. “Wetter Better Asses” is nominated for Gonzo Release of the Year and earns William H. a Director of the Year – Non-Feature Release nomination. William H.’s “Veronica Rodriguez: Latina Squirt Goddess” is also nominated for Performer Showcase of the Year. The film was a passion project for William H. and serves as emerging porn superstar Veronica Rodriguez’s very first showcase.
