    Test. Test. Test

One note on the process portion of voting, per industry magnate Howard Levine (on the XBiz forum), this year, AVN voters consist of 7 in house voters and 15 outside critics/reviewers, substantially less than previous years. As such, personal tastes can have a greater impact, especially on niche genres like BBW, TS, foreign categories, and the like. While performers in the BBW category typically make far fewer DVD’s in a given year than more mainstream women, Sam & Karla having 3 each listed on the IAFD, while others like Eliza seem to have the bulk of their work on their personal website that virtually no voter has access to for voting.

Then, in categories like best all girl performer, some have pointed out that some nominees have done B/G, even this year, wondering aloud if they should be eligible (ie: should the nomination “only” include performers that did just all girl or should it encompass any female performer that wowed us all with some wonderful g/g scenes as well as b/g scenes). Different voters apply different standards, even if to differentiate those #6’s from #7’s. On a related note, as nobody has seen all the scenes each performer in any category has done, people ask “how many scenes for each performer do you feel is needed to contrast and compare them?” (I’m paraphrasing).

Having seen and/or reviewed most of the movies from the “best acting” categories, there is a huge variation in quality of acting, some over the top performances like Toni in the Scarface knockoff or Danny in the another copycat flick paling compared to Ritchie or Ryan (either) in their respective flicks. But in upcoming categories, there are gonzo releases pitted against features (best all girl movie) that make it especially tough for guys like me that enjoy both genres a lot (features and gonzo). Okay, back to downloading 4.5 Gb long movies for voting…lol.
