Having spent the last month and half in California on Sabbatical from the pournalism world, I was ecstatic to return home and find Rog’s package (err, a package from Rog) waiting for me on my front porch. After all, I hadn’t been able to even watch the Red Shoe Diaries in the home of the friends I stayed with, never mind frigging myself off to a good Aurora Snow flick with the latest product lines from California Exotics. So, admittedly, I had rather high expectations when I unveiled the water-proof Power Buddies Teal Tickler.

The Tickler, from first appearance, seems to be a multi-faceted toy, as it has the capability to be both an unsheathed magnetic teaser (ideal for clitoral stimulation) and a vibrator featuring a ribbed silicone sleeve. As per my usual routine when reviewing toys, I popped in my new DVD lesbian lust-fest, Girls on Girls 7, expecting a most enjoyable evening of beautiful women, hot sex and best of all, an orgasm induced by the Tickler for yours truly. Yet in the end, none of these things panned out as I had hoped.

Reacting well to the appropriate atmosphere I had created for myself, I pulled the silicone sleeve over the base and twisted it on to the lowest setting and attempted to slip the Tickler inside for some stimulation. However, the nubbins coating the sheath of vibrator, instead of causing the promised “maximum pleasure,” created maximum discomfort. The sensation of the vibrating sleeve was so awkward, I have to wonder if it was even really intended for internal vaginal use, despite no disclaimer on the package to the contrary. I honestly wondered if I wasn’t attempting to pleasure myself with a miniaturized mace.

Thinking maybe the Tickler would be more enjoyable on my clit, I placed the head (featuring several flickering clitoral ticklers, hence the name) on my clit, then again turned it on to the lowest setting. Contrary to what the packaging claimed, in reality the clitoral ticklers were clumsy and inept, comparable to plastic Ginsu knives attempting to cut through butter—in other words, completely worthless.

By the time Girls on Girls 7 came to an end, I had lost any interest I previously had in the Tickler. Although the Tickler was slightly better on my clit without the silicone sleeve, that in and of itself was not enough to redeem the Tickler, as it failed to bring me to orgasm. In fact, as I’m writing the review, it occurs to me that the only outstanding experience of the whole ordeal in my mind is drawing the conclusion that one of the European actresses in the aforementioned DVD had most likely been a man. Not even my default response of phone sex with my girlfriend could salvage the Tickler from the depths to which it had fallen.

In conclusion, this toy was, personally, highly disappointing. However, I would suggest it to women who enjoy vibrators with texture or ones intended to serve as teasers. If your appetite is for something else, the Tickler is not the right toy for you.

Weaknesses: Clitoral ticklers and textured sleeve extremely uncomfortable.

Batteries Needed: Included.

Clean Up: Soap and Water.
