It started as a cure for writers block. I was working on some other projects and would come home every night and write in a journal as a warm up. One day, I was reading alt.sex.movies and found some reviews of porn flicks. I've always loved movies and porn, so I decided to review some tapes form my personal porn collection. I wrote a review, found that I liked it and posted it to asm. The feedback was positive and I just kept writing. I found it a great way to get me started each day, writing about something I enjoyed and pretty soon, people were asking me to review their films and work on a web site. The rest, as they say, is history.

Adult DVD Empire To List “The Top 50 Adult DVDs Of All Time”

Warrendale, PA – February 13, 2003 – On Friday, February 14th, Adult DVD Empire will be running the first part of a special two-part feature article listing “The Top 50 Adult DVDs Of All Time”. Part one will list titles 50 through 26, while part two – which will appear on the site on February 21st – will complete the list with the final 25 – including the top adult DVD of all time.

Adult DVD Empire’s Editorial Director, Shannon T. Nutt, came up with the idea of doing the list, and then enlisted two of ADE’s top reviewers, “Diesel” and “Spooky” to come up with the titles and decide how to rank each of them. “I didn’t want a ranking based solely on sales, solely on the quality of the DVDs, solely on awards or solely on fan and critic reaction – but a combination of all these factors, ” Nutt states. “Since Diesel and Spooky are our most frequent and respected reviewers and since combined they have reviewed over 1000 DVD titles in the past three years, I knew that they had the knowledge necessary to undertake such a daunting task.”

Nutt promises that there will be some familiar and perhaps not so familiar titles that make the final 50. “That’s part of the fun of doing these kinds of lists,” Nutt added. “They’re always going to be somewhat subjective in nature. But hopefully we’ll be able to draw some additional attention to well deserved titles and further promote this great format that is going to play a big role in the future of adult entertainment.”
