Rog Blog: XRCO Edition

I made my way up into Hollywood for the XRCO Awards on Thursday. For some reason it is always an adventure when I go to this thing. Past adventures have included an all night drunken debate over animal “emotions” with one of the most beautiful contract girls in the history of porn (Who still owes me at least two blowjobs.), detailed and violent threats of death and dismemberment for my entire family and of course last year’s drunken “ball smacking” issue with another adult journalist who enjoyed blasting me in the package and then telling everyone who would listen that I was “a dinosaur.” Oh yes, the XRCO Awards, my favorite escape.

Usually I write a long recap, but this year I am just going to throw my notes into the blog and see what happens. Hopefully these notes and the pictures will be enough to tell the story. If not, shoot me over questions and we’ll expand on anything you like.

I’m happy to report that the 2006 trek did not involve any drunken political debates or death threats and the only ball play came from lovely women who were more tender than my buddy Monstar was in 05. It was a nice night overall and I have to say that I think I had the most beautiful date of the evening. (See photos.)

In the past I have complained about the sound system and I have to say that nothing has changed. However I sat at a table upstairs this year and was able to hear most of what was being said on stage. (Including one group of presenters who couldn’t manage to pronounce Jenna Jameson or Tera Patrick correctly.) It was the first award show for my aforementioned date so I sat at the table instead of mingling at the bar during the show. That makes a huge difference.

OK, time to switch over to note-mode

Luke Ford became the first of four people to ask of my date “Is this Mrs. Rog?” Ironically he is the only one of the four who has actually met my wife.

Every time I have a conversation with Tod Hunter I learn something new. It may nto always be porn related, but he always has something.

This year’s program was a nice piece of work. Gotta give my boy Monstar credit for putting it together. (And for keeping his hands away from my package.)
