Michael Ninn Taps Britney Skye To Star In Upcoming Feature, Porn Star!
November 18th, 2004 (Chatsworth, CA): Award-winning director Michael Ninn has built his entire adult entertainment career out of delivering the unexpected, from his classic titles Shock and Latex to his most recent critically acclaimed and multi-AVN Award nominated feature In The Garden of Shadows. But he’s about to redefine his artistry once again with the production of Porn Star, a feature that takes an unflinching look at the life of an adult superstar, starring Britney Skye.
“This project has been a project I’ve been looking forward to doing for some time,” says Ninn. “This movie will go into the more fragile side of the superstardom that an adult entertainment actress can experience, a side that’s not been fully exposed or explored. This movie will be flattering at times, but above all truthful. It will question what insecurities go through a supernova’s mind.”
As for choosing Skye for the lead, Ninn says, “You couldn’t ask for a better leading star than Britney.”
Shooting this week on location in the Los Angeles area, Porn Star will also star Katja Kassin and Tory Lane. Featuring five scenes ” including two anals and one DP ” Ninn notes that although Porn Star will still be indicative of his signature style, the movie will be very dark, going back to his roots as opposed to the artistic tone of his more recent work.
As for what inspired him to tackle such a subject and how people inside the industry will react to the project, Ninn says he’s surprised he’s the first to approach it and hopes that people will gain some introspection from it.
“This subject matter is fair fodder for any director ” I’m surprised it hasn’t been done sooner, and for me it’s the right time to do it,” he says. “I think the end result will make the performers in this industry very thoughtful. I think they’ll look at their lives and question the same things that I do from this movie. With every star, why are people around them? Why are they her friends, and whose interest do they have at heart ” mine or theirs? Is the image I’ve become wholly what I want to be? That’s what we’re going to explore.”
Porn Star is scheduled for release in January.
Following a successful career working with an entertainment series on a major news network, Michael Ninn burst onto the adult entertainment scene in 1992 with the release of Black Orchid.
