As both the sequel to on of the best adult features made in the 90’s and a favorite to win an AVN Award or two, it would be fair to say that a lot should be expected of Bad Wives 2. Director Paul Thomas has waited a few years to follow up the original, so the cast has to change, but with Raylene and April in the lead roles, there are plenty of reasons to look forward to this one. I just recently saw it on video and the DVD version looks better in terms of picture, even if it does have that grainy look that some people seem to enjoy.

Things start out in a women’s prison with a steamy all girl orgy. It’s pretty standard stuff with April doing the best work with a strap on. Since this really isn’t part of the plot and just eye candy, I was rather bored. The girls are OK and the action is all right if you happen to like this sort of thing. (Which of course, I don’t.) April seems to be the stronger of the two partners who are on the eve of their first parole hearing. They are celebrity inmates for the crime they have committed, but apparently even celebrities have to lie in their bunks all night and masturbate. There is a freaky little solo scene with Raylene fucking herself silly.

Everything gets really strange when Ryan Connor enters the picture. She gets the pair all twisted around and even joins them for a three way late at night. The lighting is a little artsy in this scene, which is really too bad because Raylene is really getting down nicely on the business end of his cock. The end of the scene has a strong “Devil’s Advocate” feel to it, but it leaves us wide open for a Bad Wives 3.

There is some very interesting stuff going on in this movie, including great performances by Spears, Raylene and especially Kylie Ireland. Her dialog scenes are great, but it’s the sex that really stands out in her performance. Some of the other scenes could be hotter, but having Raylene, April and Kylie anchor most of the scenes is a very good move. While not as good a movie as part one, the DVD version of part 2 is one of the better features of 2001.
